On 8th September, at 11 o’clock at night when most people were wrapped up in bed, Morocco was hit by a 6.8 magnitude earthquake. It’s epicentre was high in the High Atlas mountains around 70km from Marrakesh. Villages in the High Atlas are built from local stone, using traditional techniques that haven’t changed for hundreds of years. Unfortunately this offers very little protection against earthquakes and the villages near the epicentre were mainly flattened.
Marakesh where our producers are based was also extensively damaged. We want to help and know that you do too.

Last week we received a shipment of lamps that left Marrakesh before the earthquake struck.
We therefore feel that the best way to help is to make an initial donation then to make a futhur donation for every lantern sold between now and Christmas.
So buy a Moroccan Lantern and help us help Morocco rebuild.
