Our New Balinese Shipment is on it’s way!

Our Balinese shipment is on it’s way!

We started work on our Balinese shipment back in the summer, we created spreadsheets of all the things that we needed, things that were running out of stock and new ideas for products that we thought might appeal to you, our lovely customers!

We went to visit our fabulous fair trade producers last month, to finalise the orders and to work on design and production issues, as well as to explore new designs.

Our hard working fairtrade producers have spent the last month handmaking all the products that we needed.

Last week our people in Bali collected our goods from our various producers around the island.  They then expertly packed them, produced the  reams of documents required for an international shipment , then finally, this week, our shipment was on it’s way.  By truck!!

The truck is making it’s way across the island of Bali to the port of Gilimanuk, where the truck crosses to the next island of Java.  It then makes it’s way to the larger port of Surabaya in Eastern Java.  Here our truck will be unloaded and our 96 valuable boxes will be loaded onto a container ship heading for Singapore.

We will then follow the progress of our ship on our computers.  When it gets to Singapore the ship wil be unloaded and the goods usually disappear into an anonymous warehouse, somewhere in Singapore!

Hopefully our shipment will be craned onto a large container ship heading for Felixstowe a few days later.

Think the Ever Given, that enormous ship that blocked the Suez Canal for over a week, a couple of years ago, and you’ll get an idea of the size of our ship.

We will keep you posted on the epic journey, hopefully it should get here in the UK, just before Christmas.
